Domain Expertise:

Methodology
In these services, we dip steel or iron products in molten zinc to protect these from corrosion and resistance. Due to metallurgical reaction between steel and zinc, a series of alloy layers is formed.
Following processes are followed while carrying out hot dip galvanizing:
Pre-treatment preparation: This process comprises the following four stages:
- Inspection: Items are inspected to ascertain their suitability for galvanization
- Degreasing: Steel is immersed in a degreasing solution to remove light oil contaminants
- Pickling: To clean base steel acid is poured
- Fluxing: To assist the galvanizing reaction, flux solution is applied to the steel
Galvanizing: Material to be galvanized is immersed in the molten zinc at temperature ranging from 450 - 460 degrees Celsius until the temperature equilibrium is achieved.
Final inspection: Visual inspection of the galvanized steel is done to ascertain the compliance with the set standards. Then the samples are tested for checking coating thickness and uniformity.
